Trayectorias y significados escolares en narrativas de vida de jóvenes estudiantes de bachillerato en Aguascalientes

Abstract

Para cuando los jóvenes estudiantes llegan al bachillerato, cuentan con aproximadamente 12 años de trayectoria escolar desde su ingreso a la primaria. Habiendo tenido una experiencia considerable de lo que es asistir a la escuela, es posible llegar a pensar que el bachillerato representa un interés especial para los estudiantes, no sólo porque en los últimos años el nivel medio superior se ha establecido como obligatorio, sino porque claramente las estadísticas muestran que cada año son más y más los jóvenes que se inscriben a la preparatoria. Además, encontramos también que el bachillerato es un nivel especial para los jóvenes, puesto que a diferencia de la educación básica, tiene como objetivos preparar a los jóvenes para la vida escolar profesional o la vida laboral. Ante estas afirmaciones, la investigación ha indagado en los significados que adquiere el bachillerato para los jóvenes, así como su percepción sobre la larga trayectoria escolar que han tenido para cuando llegan a este nivel. Se parte de la idea de que, luego de haber vivido la escuela por un tiempo prolongado, el bachillerato debe contener ya una forma de vivirse, de entenderse, es decir, de significarse. Mediante un enfoque cualitativo, se realizaron entrevistas temáticas a 18 estudiantes de la ciudad de Aguascalientes, con lo que se obtuvieron narrativas de vida que, entre otras cosas, explican lo que para los jóvenes estudiantes ha sido estudiar desde la primaria hasta el nivel medio superior. El proceso análisis de datos dejó ver que los estudiantes perciben su vida escolar en categorías relacionadas entre sí: la familia, las relaciones afectivas con los pares y el ambiente escolar, dándole prioridad los jóvenes a todo lo que se desenvuelve en la segunda categoría: las relaciones afectivas.

By the time students got in high school, they count already with approximately 12 years of school trajectory starting from elementary school. Having had a substantial experience in terms of assisting to school, it is posible to think that high school represents and show a special interest in students, not only because in recent years the medium superior academic level has been established as obligatory for all teenagers, but the stadistics clearly show that more and more young people are enroll in high school. Besides, we also find that high school is a special grade for adolescents, since unlike basic education, its mainly objectives are to prepare young people for a professional school life or for a laboral lifestyle. To these statements, the research has inquired the meanings of the high school in students, so their perception about the long school trajectory they have had by the time they get into to this education level. Starting from the idea that after students had lived a school life for a long period of time, high school should have its own way of living inside the facilities, its own understanding, signify itself. Through a qualitative approach, topical interviews were made to 18 students in the city of Aguascalientes, life narratives were obtained in this poll, among other things, the students explain how the study path has been all the way from elementary to medium superior academic level. The analysis data process allowed to see that students perceive their life school in three different categories related each other, such as family, afective relationships, and the school environment, the students gave priority to everything that surrounds and happen in the second category: the afective relationships.
