Crítica cruzada desde las letras al filo de la modernidad

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente proyecto se puede pensar como una lectura cruzada. La obra de Kenzaburo Oe se lee a los ojos de la de Octavio Paz, y la obra de Octavio Paz se lee a los ojos de la de Kenzaburo Oe; dilemas modernos explorada en su literatura —la identidad y la otredad— hacen que leamos al Otro a los ojos del Nosotros, mientras exponiéndonos a Nosotros a la lectura del Otro; con la modernidad en el centro de tales dilemas, se relee la narrativa de la modernidad en la posmodernidad para comprobar si sus aparatos críticos se alejan o se leen ahí mismo, dentro de tal narrativa la cual supuestamente rechazan; por último, siendo una investigación literaria, no se quiso caer en la trampa de solo leer la literatura los ojos de la teoría, sino invertir el proceso y también leer la teoría a los ojos de la literatura. Este proceso de lecturas y relecturas es con la intención de un nomadismo crítico de todo aquello que constriña a la realidad en vez de liberarla; de ahí la búsqueda de nuevos sentidos y de alternativas críticas vía lo que se ha nombrado constelaciones críticas, un método de cruzar lo improbable y conectar lo lejano con lo cercano —espacial o temporalmente— en un estudio del discurso literario ‘reliterarizado’.

ABSTRACT: This project can be thought of as a cross-reading. Kenzaburo Oe’s work is read through the lens of Octavio Paz’s, and Octavio Paz’s work is read through the lens of Kenzaburo Oe’s; modern dilemmas explored in their literature —identity and otherness— lead us to read the Other through the lens of the Us, while exposing the Us to the Other’s reading; with modernity at the center of these dilemmas, the narrative of modernity is re-read in postmodernity to verify whether its critical frameworks diverge from or are found within that very narrative which they supposedly reject; finally, as a literary investigation, the aim was not to fall into the trap of reading literature solely through the lens of theory, but rather to reverse the process and also read theory through the lens of literature. This process of readings and re-readings is intended as a critical nomadism of everything that constrains reality rather than liberating it; hence the search for new meanings and critical alternatives via what has been coined as critical constellations, a method of traversing the improbable and connecting the distant with the near —spatially or temporally— in a study of the literary discourse “re-literarized”.
