Construcción de la imagen equivalentista en la estética editorial del estridentismo

Abstract

Resumen En este documento se presenta un estudio semiótico (sintaxis de la imagen) de Irradiador. Revista de vanguardia editada en 1923 por el poeta Manuel Maples Arce y por el pintor Fermín Revueltas. Ambos formaron parte del estridentismo, vanguardia artística mexicana que estuvo activa durante la segunda década del siglo XX, siendo su fundador Manuel Maples Arce. Por otra parte, desde las categorías campo literario y campo del arte del sociólogo Pierre Bourdieu se hace un abordaje de los sistemas literarios y del arte en los que estuvieron insertos los estridentistas y desde donde producirán objetos artísticos únicos que responderán a una nueva estética, por lo que su composición gráfica estará cargada de un status simbólico, dotándola de originalidad frente a lo tradicional. En el análisis también se consideró la conceptualización de la imagen equivalentista, una fórmula poética propuesta por los estridentistas y que traspasó el discurso textual para abrirse paso en el componente gráfico del soporte editorial. Asimismo, se aborda la noción de vanguardia a partir de sus teóricos, esto para tener un mayor entendimiento de ese fenómeno que surgió en Europa y que se desplegó en América Latina, por lo que su desplazamiento en México originará expresiones renovadas por parte de los estridentistas. Abstract This paper presents a semiotic study (image syntax) of Irradiador. Avant-garde magazine published in 1923 by the poet Manuel Maples Arce and the painter Fermín Revueltas. Both were part of the estridentismo, Mexican artistic avant-garde that was active during the second decade of the 20th century, being its founder Manuel Maples Arce. On the other hand, from the literary field and art field categories of sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, an approach is made to the literary and art systems in which the estridentistas were inserted and from where they will produce unique artistic objects that will respond to a new aesthetic, so their graphic composition will be loaded with a symbolic status, giving it an originality compared to the traditional. The analysis also considered the conceptualization of the equivalentist image, a poetic formula proposed by the estridentistas, which went beyond the textual discourse to make its way into the graphic component of the editorial support. Likewise, the notion of avant-garde is approached from its theoreticians, in order to have a better understanding of this phenomenon that emerged in Europe and was deployed in Latin America, so that its displacement in Mexico would originate renewed expressions by the estridentistas.
