RESUMEN
El esmalte dental es el tejido más duro y mineralizado todos los vertebrados. El esmalte se encuentra expuesto a las superficies oclusales y al ambiente químico de la boca, por lo que actúa como una barrera que protege a los dientes de cambios físicos, químicos y térmicos.
El esmalte se forma por ameloblastos, los cuales, durante su diferenciación expresan proteínas (amelogenina, ameloblastina, tuftelina, enamelisina y parvalbúmina), las cuales son necesarias para el correcto desarrollo del esmalte y regulan su mineralización.
La amelogenina es la proteína que se encuentra en mayor cantidad y es esencial para la adecuada formación del esmalte contribuyendo a su organización estructural regulando el crecimiento de los cristales. La ameloblastina actúa como molécula de adhesión celular para el ameloblasto, y también está involucrada en la proliferación y diferenciación del ameloblasto. La enamelisina es la encargada de degradar a la amelogenina. La tuftelina participa en el inicio de la mineralización del esmalte y la parvalbúmina es crucial para la calcificación.
Es importante conocer la distribución e interacciones de las proteínas en el esmalte en el ser humano, y mediante los resultados obtenidos podemos corroborar que al momento de iniciar la calcificación del esmalte las cinco proteínas interactúan entre ellas permitiendo que el esmalte tenga la dureza que lo caracteriza.

ABSTRACT
Dental enamel is the harder and most highly mineralized tissue of all vertebrates. Enamel is exposed to the occlusal surfaces and chemical environment inside the mouth, so that it acts like a barrier that protects the teeth from physical, chemical and thermal forces.
Enamel is formed by the ameloblasts that, when differentiated, they express proteins (amelogenin, ameloblastin, tuftelin, enamelysin and parvalbumin), which are necessary for the proper development of the enamel and regulate its mineralization.
The amelogenin is the protein that is in greater quantity and is essential for the suitable formation of enamel contributing to its structural organization regulating the growth of the crystals. Ameloblastin acts as a cell adhesion molecule for the ameloblast, and is also involved in the proliferation and differentiation of ameloblast. Enamelysin is responsible for degrading amelogenin. Tuftelin participates in the initiation of enamel mineralization and parvalbumin is crucial for its calcification.
It is important to know the distribution and interactions of proteins in enamel in humans, and through the results obtained we can confirm that at the time of enamel calcification, the five proteins interact with each other, allowing the enamel to have the hardness that characterizes it.
