De arte alternativo y curaduría independiente en México, su función frente al sistema neoliberal del siglo XXI

Abstract

Resumen Abstract The present practical work analyzes the impact that the neoliberal economic and political system has on the circulation of symbolic capital and art. Especially how the neoliberalization process affected in México -from the end of the seventies until the Carlos Salinas de Gortari’s administration- to the development, circulation and market of alternative art, how it determined its agents and the curator’s practice. Finally, presents the curatorial case developed base on Alvek Servin’s artistic work, and the inauguration of Dimorfos’s exhibition. El presente trabajo práctico analiza el impacto que el sistema económico, político neoliberal tiene en la circulación de capital simbólico y el arte. Especialmente cómo afectó en México el proceso de neoliberalización -desde finales de la década de los setenta hasta el sexenio de Carlos Salinas de Gortari- al desarrollo, circulación y venta del arte alternativo, cómo determinó a sus agentes y a la práctica de la curaduría. Finalmente presenta el caso curatorial desarrollado a partir del trabajo artístico de Alvek Servin, el montaje e inauguración de la exposición Dimorfos.
